It is difficult to find a foundation that works for everyone. The foundation that works best for one person may not work for another. It is also personal preference. Which coverage do you prefer? Are you more comfortable with a matte or dewy finish?
This week I spent considerable time in Superdrug, Boots, trying on all kinds of strange and wonderful foundations, including Barry M, Rimmel and Maybelline. Next, I made a list of the top three.
The Maybelline cosmetics buying guide Dream Nude Airfoam foundation was my third favorite. Users have mixed opinions about this foundation. Some complain that it is too streaky, dry to the skin, hard to blend and doesn’t provide enough coverage. Some users disagree and praise Maybelline for their innovative foamy formula, which provides light coverage, even coverage, as well as a dewy glow.
This foundation is not recommended for people with dry skin or scarring or blemishes. My skin is very dry. I noticed that the airfoam became a cakey texture when I didn’t use moisturiser on my skin. This foundation was great for moisturizing my skin. It perfectly evened my skin tone and made me feel like I didn’t have any foundation.
To ensure the foam is evenly mixed, shake the container well before you pour it. Don’t press too hard on the nozzle as the mousse can froth and get everywhere. This item was available at PS8.99 in Boots, and PS6.99 at Superdrug. It was rated an average of 3/5 by Boots customers.
The Max Factor Second Skin foundation is my second favorite. It looks almost undetectable on the skin. The foundation gives you a glowing, even, and fresh complexion without looking cakey. This foundation has brought me so many compliments on my skin. The best thing? It costs only PS12.99. It’s not bad for a foundation that does the same job I would expect from a high-end product. It has been rated an impressive 4/5 stars by Boots customers.
The Revlon PhotoReady foundation is in first place. The consistency was heavier than the other foundations so I keep it for the evening. It gives skin a flawless, beautiful finish.
PhotoReady foundation doesn’t get shiny all day because it is oil-free. This foundation was only PS12.99 at Boots. Customers have given it 4 1/2 stars.
